St. John

Have you been to a small yet beautiful island?

St. John is the smallest of the U.S. Virgin Islands located in the Caribbean Sea.  The island is most famous for snorkeling sites.

The most popular beach in St. John is Trunk Bay.  It is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It features an underwater snorkeling trail.  It has calm turquoise water, so clear that you would enjoy seeing beautiful creatures like coral reefs and sea turtles.  It has soft white sand that you would love to walk miles on the beach.

I didn't snorkel, but I walked on the beach and wet my feet. I smelled the fresh Caribbean air while watching people swim. I sat and did nothing. Sometimes, this is what we are supposed to do. Do nothing and enjoy the beauty around us.

St. John is not only the mecca of the best beaches in the world, but it is also a mecca for rum. There are varieties of rum, but the most famous is called the "painkiller." It is a sweet blend of rum, pineapple juice, coconut, orange juice, and nutmeg. Most visitors don't leave St. John without taking a bottle of rum back home.

I had a taste of rum that welcomed me at the harbor.  Cheers to more adventures!  When I have the opportunity to drink, my top choice is always a sweet Caribbean drink.

The Virgin Islands National Park has 22 trails to hike. It occupies the majority of St. John, which is two-third of the island.  It is a protected area with forests, beaches, mangroves, coral reefs, and marine life.  Thus, making the island so beautifully preserved.

The lush green color of the park blends with the colors of the water and the sky. It is picture perfect!

It was a lovely day to ride an open ferry from St. Thomas to see this beautiful island.  St. John is one of my favorite Caribbean islands. My photos and experiences justify them. It is a paradise!
